I've spent more than 25 years working as a professional musician; performing and touring internationally, working alongside household-name artists as well as teaching guitar, bass and music at universities and music colleges.

Now, I'm bringing that experience into a small, deliberately limited home teaching practice in Farnham.

My own musical education includes a MA in Music, Grade 8 Guitar, Grade 8 Bass and Grade 8 Music Theory, alongside decades of practical experience as a working musician and teacher.

There are plenty of people who can show you how to play a chord, teach you a song or a guitar riff or two. What I bring is a broader understanding of how music works, how people actually learn, and how to connect the two.

So rather than following a fixed syllabus or simply working through parts of songs, lessons are built around you, the music you love, what you want to achieve and the kind of guitarist you want to become.

Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time, trying to get beyond the same handful of chords, wanting to improvise and solo, or looking to properly understand the instrument and music theory behind what you're playing, I'll work out the most useful route to get you there.

Learn the guitar. Understand the music. Play what you actually want to play.
